'I'm not sure he realises how powerful a message he has sent out': Marcus Rashford's first coach lavishes praise on 'iconic' Manchester United striker as he continues to urge government to keep food voucher scheme running through the school holidays

Marcus Rashford has been lauded as 'more than just a footballer' amid his efforts to pressure the government into reversing their decision over the food voucher scheme.

The Manchester United striker's first coach, Dave Horrocks, helped nurture Rashford's talent as a youngster at Fletcher Moss Rangers and spoke with immense pride at his former player's activism.

Rashford has written an open letter to MPS, urging them to make a U-turn on the decision to stop providing meals to help low-income families during the school summer holidays.
