On Sunday, before our Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, Keely Hodgkinson was presented to the crowd in M16 with her gold medal from the Paris 2024 games around her neck.
From Atherton in Greater Manchester and a devout Red since birth, the 800m champion explained how much it means to have the backing of the club she has supported her whole life.
"It is amazing," she said.
"I think it is amazing to mix sports and know that in another sport you still have that same support.
"For a team like Manchester United, who are so world-famously known and that I have supported my entire life, to welcome me back and show me that support is really, really nice.
