Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not given up hope of keeping Odion Ighalo at Manchester United for the rest of the season as the clock ticks down on the Nigerian striker's loan deal.
It is due to run out on Sunday and Ighalo will have to rejoin Shanghai Shenhua unless United can persuade the Chinese club to let him stay longer.
That looks unlikely after it emerged that Shanghai have rejected several requests from United to keep the 30-year-old player for another three months.
They want him back ahead of the new Chinese Super League season, and have offered him a contract extension until 2024 worth £400,000-a-week.
