Manchester United went in to Thursday's final Europa League group stage game against Zorya hoping to get out of the Ukraine without losing any extremities to frost-bite or picking up any injuries on the rock-solid pitch. A draw would have been enough to see them through ahead of kick-off but as soon as Fenerbahce went ahead, United could have lost and still advanced.
As it was, they beat Zorya 2-0, playing totally within themselves against a clearly inferior side. United totally dominated possession and chances even if the home side arguably had the best opportunity of the first half, which Sergio Romero managed to save.
