Henrikh Mkhitaryan named Armenian player of the year for sixth time in a row... as David Alaba achieves same feat with another Austrian award

Manchester United playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has scooped the Armenian player of the year award for the sixth consecutive time.

The 27-year-old midfielder beat Gevorg Ghazaryan and Marcos Pizzelli to the vote to win the award for a seventh time in his career.

It caps off a memorable year for Mkhitaryan, who left Borussia Dortmund for United in the summer following a three-year spell in Germany.
