Harry Maguire vows to fight for his place at Manchester United after starting the Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Charlton, as doubts persist over the club captain's future at Old Trafford

Harry Maguire has vowed to keep fighting for his place at Manchester United with the club captain's playing time having become increasingly limited at Old Trafford.

Maguire partnered Lisandro Martinez in central defence in the Red Devils' 3-0 win over Charlton in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, with the Argentine returning to the starting eleven after World Cup success in Qatar.

The World Cup had also seen Maguire produce a series of assured displays during England's run to the quarter-finals, which was expected to help revive his Manchester United career.
