Harry Kane is 'Manchester United's prime striker target in the summer... and former Old Trafford chief Ed Woodward already warned his Tottenham counterpart Daniel Levy they were interested last summer'

Harry Kane has become a primary target for Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window as they are eager to replace Edison Cavani - who is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

United had been linked to the Tottenham striker last season after the 28-year-old told Daniel Levy he wanted to leave Spurs to peruse trophies and domestic success elsewhere.

The Red Devils were eager to sign Kane ahead of their competitors but told the Tottenham hierarchy that they would have to wait until 2022 to finalise a deal following the signing Jadon Sancho.
