Former Arsenal fans favourite Gilberto Silva has insisted Fred is committed to Manchester United following the slow start to his Old Trafford career.
The Brazilian midfielder joined United for £52million from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer but made only eight appearances in the English top flight under Jose Mourinho.
Silva, who is both a close friend and personal advisor to the 25-year-old, acknowledged a lack of games has been difficult but Fred is keen to remain at United.

'The fact that he is not playing makes him anxious, but what I say to him is that he must keep working hard on a daily basis, he should be patient because the club is going through a delicate moment,' he told The Telegraph.
