Gary Neville admits that seeing Cristiano Ronaldo crying following Morocco quarter-final was 'horrible' and sympathises with the former Manchester United star after his World Cup dream seemingly ended.

Neville told his Sky Sports podcast that he could understand the feelings that the Portuguese legend was experiencing with his side knocked out of the World Cup by underdogs Morocco, who become the first African side to make the semi-finals.

The former England right-back added that it was 'horrible to see him like that' at what looks to be the twilight of a glittering career as one of the greatest ever players.
