Gary Neville reveals Sky Sports took him off commentary duties for Manchester City's title-winning game in 2012 'because the emotion was so high' - and says the celebrations were bigger than United's 1999 Champions League win

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has admitted that Sky Sports removed him from their commentary team when rivals City won the title in the most dramatic climax to a Premier League season ever.

Roberto Mancini's side scored twice in added time to beat QPR 3-2 on the final day of the 2011-12 season, sealing their first title in 44 years on goal difference from Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

Neville had been working as a commentator and pundit for Sky following his retirement at the end of the previous campaign, but TV bosses felt the 'emotion' of the day would be too much for him to handle on air.
