Gary Neville makes significant donation to non-league Brighouse Town to help them through the coronavirus crisis as they hold 'special place in his heart' because they were the last team he watched Salford play with his late dad

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has made a significant donation to Brighouse Town to help the non-league club cope with the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.

Brighouse, based in West Yorkshire, play in the Northern Premier League Division One North West. They were in eleventh place before this season's results were expunged.

Neville chose to make the donation as he recalls going with his late father to watch Salford City lose 3-1 to Brighouse, who play at St Giles Road.
