Gareth Bale has insisted he 'couldn't care less' about losing his status as the world's most expensive player to Paul Pogba and is instead targeting a history-making season with Real Madrid.
The Wales star's £86million price tag was surpassed when Manchester United paid £89m for Pogba but Bale is focussed on silver of a different kind, namely defending the Champions League.
Bale wants to help Real become the first team to retain the trophy in its current incarnation and in doing so he would stand alone as Wales's only three-time winner, surpassing Joey Jones, Ian Rush and Ryan Giggs.
