Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp expects Tottenham to spend big in the January transfer window as it was 'probably one of the provisions' of Antonio Conte finally agreeing to take the hot seat in north London

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp expects the club to spend big in the January transfer window following the arrival of Antonio Conte.

Spurs moved quickly after sacking Nuno Espirito Santo following the dismal 3-0 defeat to Manchester United with chairman Daniel Levy and director of football Fabio Paratici holding talks with Conte and offering him an 18-month deal with an option to extend.

The former Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan boss was the club's top target to replace Jose Mourinho at the start of the season but he turned them down, amid reports he feared he would not be backed in the transfer market.
