Former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Darron Gibson is one of 11 players released by Salford City following the end of the League Two season.
The clubs in the fourth tier signalled their intention to end the campaign on Friday and decide the final table on points-per-game amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
And Salford, who are part-owned by members of United's famous Class of 92, have wasted little time in deciding which of their squad to retain and release.
Gibson, 32, played just four times for the club during their maiden Football League season with Salford sitting 10th in the standings when football was suspended in March.
