Former Liverpool scout Alex Miller has revealed how close he came to signing Gerard Pique, John Terry and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Merseyside club.
Miller, who served as a Director of Scouting under Gerard Houllier and then as first-team coach under Rafa Benitez, wanted to bring the trio to Anfield during the earlier stages of the career.
The 68-year-old recalls how Manchester United beat him to the punch with Pique after seeing the defender at a youth tournament.
'I looked at Gerard Pique and I tried to get him,' Miller told ESPN.
