Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has opened the door to a potential return to Old Trafford as sporting director.
Ferdinand is one of the names linked with the role, which would be the first of its kind at United.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has met with Ferdinand recently as he feels the ex-England international understands modern footballers and can sell the club's philosophy.
"At the end of the day, I'm human and everyone knows my relationship that I've got with Manchester United and the love I've got for that club," Ferdinand told BBC RM Sport.
