Ex-Manchester United man Anderson reveals his love for 'god of football' Sir Alex Ferguson: 'I played through injuries for him and stayed on with cut legs... I can't thank him enough'

Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson has admitted to playing through the pain barrier in order to repay the trust shown in him by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Brazilian, who now plys his trade in his home country with Internacional, was brought to Old Trafford by Ferguson in a £20million deal from Porto in 2007.

After a slow start, Anderson earned a more regular spot in United's midfield and went on to lift four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

And the 29-year-old says it was Ferguson's faith and caring nature which made him determined to prove himself - even when he wasn't fully fit.
