A LaLiga club are looking to sell the player in order to fund moves for a centre back and a midfielder.
The 28-year-old has three years remaining on his current contract but could end up leaving.
With the Saudi Arabian transfer window not closing until September 20, there is still plenty of time for a deal to be done.
Al-Tai finished in ninth place in the Saudi Pro League last season.
