Former Holland midfielder Fred Rutten has turned down the chance to become an assistant at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, claiming the project makes him feel 'uncomfortable'.
Ajax boss ten Hag will take over from interim Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford this summer, and offered Rutten, who has led the likes of Schalke, PSV, and Feyenoord across a 20-year managerial career, the chance to become one of his assistants.
But the 59-year-old, via the Guardian, told Dutch TV that he wanted to stay in his home country to be close to his family.
