Friends and ex-teammates of Liam Miller have revealed the former Celtic midfielder is battling cancer.
The 36-year-old began his career at Parkhead, scoring two goals in 26 appearances during the Martin O'Neill era before moving to Manchester United.
Miller, a former Republic of Ireland international raised in Cork, also played for Sunderland, Leeds and Hibs before spells in Australia and the United States.
Miller is understood to be fighting pancreatic cancer, undergoing treatment in America last month before returning home.
Former Hibs colleague Tam McManus wrote: 'Awful news about Liam Miller keep the fingers crossed that he somehow pulls through.
