Erik ten Hag defends his Dutch revolution at Man United, despite 11 of his signings having played in the Netherlands, after Ajax trolled the Red Devils

Erik Ten Hag has defended the number of Dutch players he has brought to Manchester United, insisting he isn’t playing favourites in the transfer market.

The £60million double swoop this week for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, who both worked under Ten Hag at Ajax, means 11 of his 20 signings as United manager are Dutch or have played in the Netherlands.

The new arrivals, which also includes £36.5m Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, join goalkeeper Andre Onana, Antony and Lisandro Martinez, who all played for Ten Hag at Ajax, as well as Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount, who previously played in the Eredivisie.
