Following today’s announcement, Collette Roche, Manchester United's Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are proud to welcome England men’s international football back to Old Trafford. There is a great tradition of support for the men’s and women’s England teams here and we look forward hosting another important fixture next summer.
“In the previous 17 England men’s international matches we have witnessed some memorable moments including the unforgettable FIFA World Cup qualifier against Greece in October 2001 when David Beckham's stunning free-kick at the Stretford End sealed qualification for the 2002 finals.
“And, of course, more history was made this summer when a capacity crowd at Old Trafford witnessed the opening match of England’s Lionesses' glorious run to being crowned champions at the 2022 UEFA European Women’s Championship.
