Aston Villa chairman Dr Tony Xia believes the club can reach the pinnacle of European football within a decade and has warned the likes of Manchester United they need to adapt to modern football or be left behind.
The Chinese businessman's Recon Group bought the Championship club from American Randy Lerner back in June and he is already onto his second manager, having sacked Roberto Di Matteo in October and replaced him with Steve Bruce.
Villa currently sit 11th in the Championship table, four points off the play-off places, ahead of Saturday's visit to Leeds United.
But Xia is very confident that the club's stay in the second division will be a short one.
