Four months ago Katie Zelem thought her World Cup dream was over.
The midfielder had been left out of the England squad for April's fixtures against Brazil and Australia, the final international camp before boss Sarina Wiegman picked her 23-player tournament cohort.
Zelem was one of five players cut from the provisional 28-player squad before last summer's Euros and, 12 months on, the midfielder thought she was set for more heartbreak.
'To be honest when I found out I wasn't picked for the April camp I actually thought that was my World Cup dream over,' Zelem said.
