Dean Henderson 'will only sign new Manchester United contract if he is promised No 1 spot' as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer weighs up replacing David De Gea with promising English star

Dean Henderson will hold off signing a new contract at Manchester United unless he is guaranteed to be the club's No 1 goalkeeper next season, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has been outstanding while on loan at Sheffield United and helped the Blades mount an unlikely challenge for European football during their first season back in the Premier League.

His loan at Bramall Lane is due to expire this summer, with the clubs reportedly close to agreeing an extension so he can play for Chris Wilder until the season concludes, but talk has already turned to how he will feature for Ole Gunner Solskjaer in future.
