David De Gea wants Manchester United to extend the run of victories into 2017, after the Reds rounded off 2016 by netting two late goals to defeat Middlesbrough 2-1 on New Year's Eve.
After Grant Leadbitter fired Boro in front with a touch over 20 minutes remaining at Old Trafford, it looked as if the game could slip away from United but De Gea never gave up hope of securing a sixth successive triumph in all competitions.
"We believed in ourselves," the Spanish goalkeeper told MUTV. "We put all the [attacking] players on the pitch, the strikers and the wingers, and we scored two goals and got the three points.
