David Moyes has revealed he had a helicopter ready to sign Gareth Bale in 2013 whilst he was Manchester United manager, only for the Welshman to snub him and join Real Madrid.
Both parties have gone in different directions since but could face each other again on Saturday as Bale gets set to make his second Tottenham debut against West Ham.
Moyes, now at the London Stadium, succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United but was sacked after just seventh months in the job.
But things could have been different if the Scot had secured Bale, who he wanted as his first summer signing at the time.
