Manchester United have reportedly been turned by Darwin Nunez, as the Benfica striker wants to play Champions League football.
The Red Devils failed to qualify for Europe's most prestigious tournament following a miserable campaign in which they will at most finish in sixth - which would mean a place in the Europa League.
Nunez is one of the most sought-after young strikers in world football at present, on the back of a stunning season in which he has scored 34 goals in 41 appearances.
In a blow to incoming United manager Erik ten Hag, RMC Sport have reported that Nunez has rejected Manchester United's £68million approach due to their failure to finish in the top-four.
