Crystal Palace lost Wilfried Zaha to a hamstring injury in the second half of a 0-0 draw with Newcastle on Saturday evening.
The game started in slow fashion, and Newcastle dominated proceedings without creating too many chances.
Eddie Howe's side will feel they should have scored with Miguel Almiron hitting the side netting and Callum Wilson directing a free header straight into Vicente Guaita's arms.
But the spoils were shared, with Newcastle leapfrogging Manchester United into third in the Premier League table.
