To Manchester United fans, and probably everyone else who has observed Cristiano Ronaldo's rather sad decline at club level, the scenes in Lusail on Tuesday night will have been depressingly familiar.
Ronaldo exiting the stage alone, face like thunder, full in the knowledge that he was taking attention away from his team-mates just as they deserved to be enjoying their moment in the spotlight.
