Chelsea took their spending under Todd Boehly to a staggering £785million with the completion of Axel Disasi’s transfer from Monaco — and they haven’t stopped yet.
The 25-year-old France defender has joined in a £38.7million deal and signed a six-year contract after the Blues moved to cover the injury to Wesley Fofana.
Disasi, who was also a target for Manchester United and Newcastle, was part of the France squad who were runners-up at last year’s World Cup in Qatar.
Chelsea will soon secure the £25m signing of Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, 25, who has agreed a seven-year contract, and they remain in talks with Brighton over a deal for the Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo, valued at £105m.
