Chelsea and Manchester United are maintaining a watching brief on Gremio midfielder Arthur.
Barcelona looked to have agreed a deal for the 21-year-old after he posed in one of the club shirts after meeting Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez.
That angered Gremio who insisted a deal had not been struck and demanded that he would only be allowed to leave for his £45million buyout clause.
Barca remain interested in signing Arthur this summer but have since completed the signings of Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina and are trying to offload around eight players to balance the books.
