Carlos Tevez's Chinese adventure begins... as the man on more money than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo receives hero's welcome in Shanghai

Carlos Tevez's first taste of the Chinese Super League revolution was to be met by thousands of fans after the world's best-paid player arrived in Shanghai on Thursday morning.

The man on more money than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and police struggled to get the star through the terminal.

The former West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City striker signed for Shanghai Shenhua in a mega-money move believed to be worth an astonishing £615,000 per week.

It saw the 32-year-old leave boyhood club Boca Juniors and become the latest capture by a Chinese club following Oscar’s move from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG for £52million.
