Nicky Butt has revealed he is taking charge of the Manchester United team in the UEFA Youth League this season.
The Reds will field an Under-19 side, with three over-aged outfield players allowed, in the European competition, in which the fixtures will mirror the senior side's Champions League group schedule, following the draw on 24 August.
Butt is taking on the coaching assignment but has, of course, passed on Under-23 duties to Ricky Sbragia. The former Reds midfielder has previous experience of managing in the competition in 2013 and 2015, when James Wilson and Marcus Rashford made big impacts.
