Sir Matt Busby, the legendary former Manchester United manager, has been inducted into the North Lanarkshire Hall of Fame.
The Scot, who passed away in 1994, was instrumental in shaping the club and rebuilding after the tragic Munich air crash in 1958. His granddaughter Jeanette and daughter-in-law Irene attended the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell to mark the occasion.
The sports centre and swimming pool in Belshill are already named in Sir Matt's honour and the following panel was erected to recognise the great man's achievements:
Name: Sir Alexander Matthew ‘Matt’ Busby, CBE, KCSG
Sport: Football
