Bruno Fernandes roared back at his critics at Old Trafford on Thursday night as he helped put Manchester United within sight of the Europa League quarter-finals.
Fernandes scored a goal and made an assist in a 4-1 win over Real Betis, but manager Erik ten Hag warned his under-fire captain that he has to control his emotions after he was lucky to avoid a red card.
Fernandes, who was heavily criticised for his petulant behaviour in Sunday's 7-0 collapse at Liverpool, was booked for a late challenge on goalkeeper Claudio Bravo which could have led to a more severe punishment from German referee Daniel Siebert.
