Bruno Fernandes has called on Manchester United’s players to be braver and show some more belief to arrest their worst start to a season at home in 131 years.
Despite the Manchester United captain cancelling out Yankuba Minteh’s opener from the penalty spot, Ruben Amorim’s side folded and were soundly beaten 3-1 by the time referee Peter Bankes brought an end to this somewhat one-sided contest.
Asked if this malaise is in fact the new standard for United, who have not performed this poorly at home since their days known as Newton Heath, Fernandes was firm in response.
