Brighton interested in signing free agent Danny Welbeck after former England striker was released by Watford last week following multiple injury problems

Brighton have expressed interest in signing free agent Danny Welbeck who was released from his contract at Watford last week.

Seagulls manager Graham Potter has been looking for an experienced forward to replace Glenn Murray who left last summer and had previously been linked with Josh King and Troy Deeney.

Welbeck, 29, first made his name at his boyhood club Manchester United before joining Arsenal in 2014.
