'Before Bruno Fernandes, but not now': Rio Ferdinand says Manchester United don't need Philippe Coutinho and urges Tottenham to end the Brazilian's Barcelona nightmare

Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United do not need to make a move for Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho this summer, with the Englishman heaping praise on Bruno Fernandes.

A host of Premier League clubs are eyeing up Coutinho with the Brazilian seemingly unwanted in Catalonia. It also looks unlikely that his loan club, Bayern Munich, will take up their option of signing the playmaker on a permanent deal.

Coutinho has failed to deliver on the £145m fee that Barcelona shelled out for him in January 2018 and the former Liverpool man looks likely to be going out on loan once more next season.
