Beardsmore returns to United

Former Reds midfielder Russell Beardsmore has rejoined the club as part of Manchester United Foundation's coaching staff.

The 47-year-old has been working with another of the teams he played for, Bournemouth, but has moved back north to provide elite football coaching as part of United's BTEC in Sport programme, run in collaboration with Salford City College.

Beardsmore made 56 first-team appearances for the Reds between 1986 and 1993 and was part of the first bunch of youngsters to break through under Alex Ferguson and be dubbed 'Fergie's Fledglings' in the media, several years before the 'Class of '92' repeated the feat.
