It’s a fitting reward for the defender’s impressive first season with the club, during which she has made 19 appearances in the WSL and two in the Continental Cup.
Batlle arrived last summer after a two-year spell with Levante and became the first Spaniard to play for our women’s team.
On signing for the Reds, Ona told club media: “I’ve been waiting a long time for this. I am looking forward to getting started with my new team, developing myself as a player and achieving great things with this club.”
An attacking full-back, Batlle helped Stoney’s side to notch some notable results against the WSL’s three most successful sides, including a 1-1 draw with eventual champions Chelsea on her debut, back-to-back draws with Manchester City in November and, in that same month, a 1-0 win over Arsenal.
