Manchester United were stunned in Switzerland as Basel continued their excellent record against English clubs at home in the Champions League .
United were the better side for much of the evening, however the hosts improved in the second half and won the game when Michael Lang tapped in at the far post.
The result means United must wait until a fortnight's time to guarantee qualification for the last 16, having only needed a point to top Group A.
