Manchester United could be without Andre Onana for up to four Premier League games after the uncertainty around the goalkeeper’s international standing was crystalised yesterday.
Cameroon have called up Onana for the Africa Cup of Nations after months of doubt over whether he would be available for the tournament.
The 27-year-old quit international football after he was sent home from last year’s World Cup amid spats with FA president Samuel Eto’o and manager Rigobert Song.
Onana made a shock return to help Cameroon qualify for AFCON in September and will be part of the team travelling to Ivory Coast for their group stage fixtures, which start on January 15.
