Donny van de Beek could sign for Manchester United this summer if Real Madrid continue to hestitate over a deal, according to Ajax coach Ronald de Boer.
The Dutch midfielder is a target for the Red Devils and the La Liga giants this summer, with Ajax chief executive and former United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar confirming interest from the two European heavyweights.
Yet de Boer appeared to imply that the Spanish side are mulling over a £49million deal for the Dutchman, with Manchester United preparing to offer £36million for the player.
