Only this time it was not against the mighty Manchester City to lift the trophy, but at non-league York City to reach the third round.

But this was an altogether more forgettable experience for the Scot, whose League One outfit were pushed all the way by their National League hosts, with only Stephen Humphrys’ 61st-minute strike separating the sides.
