Xabi Alonso will make his highly-anticipated step up to a top managerial role in the summer when he takes over at Borussia Monchengladbach, it has been reported.
Marco Rose is currently in charge of the Bundesliga side but they are in an awful run of form, having lost eight of their last 10 games and been dumped out of the Champions League by Manchester City.
Despite a big 3-0 away victory at the weekend to stop the rot, Bild report that Monchengladbach chiefs have made the unusual decision of pre-empting a managerial change in the summer, with Alonso set to arrive.
