Willy Caballero becomes first Chelsea player to sign a contract extension ahead of Project Restart as goalkeeper says he 'feels blessed by this opportunity'

Chelsea have confirmed that Willy Caballero has extended his contract by a further year, committing himself to the club until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Caballero has featured nine times for Frank Lampard's side this season, which was stopped in its tracks back at the beginning of March due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The Argentine's one-year extension means he will now head into his fourth season at Stamford Bridge, having signed from Manchester City in 2017.
