'When I'm seeing lots of people dying from Covid, it just doesn't sit right': Rochdale team doctor Wesley Tensel warns the Football League it does not want to appear on the wrong side of history as he calls for season to be STOPPED amid spike in cases

Football is in danger of coming down on the wrong side of history, one Football League club doctor has warned.

Dr Wesley Tensel is part of the backroom staff at League One outfit Rochdale, who have been forced to postpone their next two fixtures after one player returned a positive coronavirus test on Christmas Day.

Their fixture against Crewe on Wednesday evening is one of nine in the Football League that has been called off due to outbreaks at clubs, including seven in the third tier alone.

Saturday's clash at Spotland Stadium against MK Dons is also no longer going ahead.
