Vincent Kompany faces six weeks out as Pep Guardiola confirms Sergio Aguero is a doubt

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Vincent Kompany will be out for up to six weeks, while Sergio Aguero is a doubt for Saturday’s lunchtime clash with Burnley.

Kompany has been in Barcelona with specialist Dr Ramon Cugat after damaging the medial ligament in his right knee at Crystal Palace last weekend.

The initial prognosis was for City’s injury-plagued captain to be sidelined for another month, but it now appears as though he will be out for an additional two weeks.

Kompany’s problems have placed his future at the Etihad in renewed jeopardy, and put City under pressure to buy a new centre-back in the January transfer window.
