Vincent Kompany could make his first start of the season in the EFL Cup against Swansea City on Wednesday night as he begins to rebuild his career after two seasons of injury setbacks.
The Manchester City skipper was on the bench for Saturday's 4-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday and he could end a four-month wait for first-team action. Kompany led out the City team for a Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu last May but lasted just eight minutes before being taken off on a stretcher with a thigh strain.
